The project proposes a Five-Star Beach Hotel at Patenga, Chittagong, designed as a climate-responsive coastal hospitality destination. The concept focuses on creating a seamless relationship between architecture and the Bay of Bengal shoreline while providing world-class luxury accommodation.
The design aims to balance environmental sensitivity, operational efficiency, and experiential quality, transforming the hotel into a gateway to Bangladesh’s coastal heritage.
Developed on an approximately 5-acre coastal site, the hotel integrates public, semi-private, private, and service zones in a clear functional hierarchy.
The program includes a grand lobby, restaurants, banquet facilities, sea-facing guest rooms and suites, swimming pool, spa, fitness center, and full back-of-house services.
The massing and orientation maximize sea views while protecting the building from harsh western sun, saline winds, and high humidity. Landscape elements act as climatic buffers and enhance the guest experience.
The project combines luxury hospitality standards with contextual and environmental responsiveness.
The structure is reinforced concrete with corrosion-resistant treatments suitable for coastal conditions.
Passive design strategies include deep overhangs, shaded balconies, cross ventilation, and optimized orientation to reduce heat gain. Elevated plinth levels address storm surge risks.
Energy-efficient systems and durable materials ensure long-term sustainability in a high-humidity marine climate.
